Texmaco Rail has taken a bold step toward a greener future. The company has set up a 10-megawatt solar power plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This project is a key part of Texmaco Rail’s sustainability plan. It was developed with AMP Energy India, a known name in the clean energy space.

This new solar plant will power Texmaco’s operations in Raipur. It is expected to produce over 15 million units of clean electricity every year. This means the company can now reduce more than 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually. That’s a big win for the environment and for India’s green energy goals.

Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman & Executive Director of Texmaco Rail, called this project a future-focused move. “This is not just a sustainability checkbox,” he said. “This is about changing how Indian industry thinks about energy.”

The project follows the Group Captive Open Access Policy. This gives Texmaco Rail more control over where its power comes from. It also helps the company save 30 to 40 percent in energy costs. Plus, it reduces the need to rely on the grid.

The solar plant is more than just a green move. It’s a smart business choice. With rising electricity prices and climate change, companies need to act. Texmaco Rail is showing how to lead with action, not just words.

The company also shared that this move fits into its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles. These are global standards that guide how a company should behave responsibly. “Responsible manufacturing is no longer optional,” said Mookerjee. “This solar plant proves that we are serious about clean energy and about doing the right thing.”

Texmaco Rail has been a major player in India’s railway sector. Now, it’s also stepping up as a leader in clean manufacturing. By setting up its own solar plant, the company is showing others how it’s done.

AMP Energy India also played a key role in building this project. The company has been working with industries across India to provide solar solutions. Their partnership with Texmaco Rail shows how public-private teamwork can make big things happen.

India is on a fast track to meet its green energy goals. Projects like this help push that mission forward. More companies are now looking at solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources.

In the end, Texmaco Rail’s solar plant in Raipur is more than a power project. It’s a message. A message that says Indian companies can be both strong and sustainable.
