A CRPF jawan was attacked by a group of kanwariyas (Shiva devotees) at Mirzapur railway station on Sunday during a fight over train tickets.
The incident happened when the jawan was about to board the Brahmaputra Express to go for duty in Manipur. At the same time, the kanwariyas were also trying to buy tickets for the same train to travel to Baidyanath Dham in Jharkhand.

According to GRP Inspector Raghavendra Singh, a heated argument broke out between them, which turned into a physical fight. The police officers at the station quickly stepped in and called for extra support to control the situation and help the CRPF jawan.
The jawan was later safely helped to board his train.
Police arrested three kanwariyas for attacking the jawan. They have been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing harm and provoking a fight, as well as under the Railway Act. However, all three were later released on bail.
