Kantara: Chapter 1 has officially finished shooting, and the buzz is real. Rishab Shetty, the man behind this big cultural movie, just gave fans a behind-the-scenes look after announcing the film’s wrap.
This film is not just a sequel. It’s a prequel to the surprise blockbuster Kantara (2022). That movie started small in Kannada but ended up earning over $50 million worldwide. It connected with Indian audiences like few others. Now, Kantara: Chapter 1 promises to go even deeper.
A Bigger Vision for Kantara
After the success of the first film, Hombale Films decided to go all in. They even built an entire studio just for Kantara: Chapter 1. Producer Vijay Kiragandur said this move came from “creative need.” Karnataka didn’t have the kind of studio space they needed, so they made their own.
This new studio gave Rishab Shetty freedom and peace of mind to shoot his dream film. “We had full control,” said Kiragandur. “And that matters when you’re trying to create something this big.”

Spiritual Roots and Cultural Strength

This time, Hombale Films has put other big projects like Salaar: Part 2 on hold. Why? Because Kantara comes first. “We believe in giving it everything,” said Kiragandur.
