Tragic Explosion in Tamil Nadu: Three Workers Killed, Several Injured in a Powerful Blast at Sivakasi Fireworks Unit

A tragic accident happened on Monday afternoon at a fireworks factory near Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu. Three workers lost their lives and three others were injured in a blast.

The explosion took place at Mariammal Fireworks located in Andiyapuram village in Virudhunagar district. Around 50 workers were present at the time, making crackers.

Police said the blast occurred in one of the working sheds because of a chemical reaction caused by friction.

The injured workers were quickly taken to Sivakasi Government Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters and rescue teams reached the scene and managed to put out the fire. Revenue and police officials also arrived to inspect the area and begin their investigation into the cause of the explosion.
