Gwyneth Paltrow is back in the spotlight, but not for a Hollywood movie or a Goop product. This time, she’s teaming up with an AI startup called Astronomer, just days after a Coldplay concert scandal went viral.

Yes, that scandal. The one where Astronomer’s former CEO Andy Byron and ex-HR head Kristin Cabot were caught getting cozy on the kiss cam at a Coldplay show near Boston. They quickly tried to hide their faces, which only made things worse. Even Coldplay’s Chris Martin joked on stage, hinting at an affair.

To make things more awkward, both Byron and Cabot are married—to other people. Kristin Cabot is married to Andrew Cabot, a rich Boston businessman. Andy Byron’s wife is Megan Kerrigan. The video blew up on social media, and soon after, both resigned from their roles.

Enter Gwyneth Paltrow.

In a bold move, Astronomer brought on Chris Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, as a “very temporary” spokesperson. In a cheeky promo video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Gwyneth thanks everyone for their interest in the company and says she’s there to answer questions.

But instead of talking about the scandal, she skips right over it.

She begins by introducing Astronomer as the best place to run Apache Airflow, a data workflow tool. “We’ve been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation,” she says with a smile.

The video keeps swerving away from the drama. One viewer question starts asking about how the company is dealing with the PR mess—but it gets cut off mid-sentence. Gwyneth quickly shifts back to business: “Yes, there is still room at our Beyond Analytics event in September,” she says.

The video ends with her saying, “Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.”

It’s a smart PR move. Instead of hiding, Astronomer is laughing it off—with a Hollywood twist. Gwyneth Paltrow, who once sold candles that smelled like her, now talks about data tools. Only in 2025.

For a company recovering from viral embarrassment, this kind of self-aware humor works. It says: “We know what happened, and we’re moving on.”

So while the ex-executives are dealing with personal fallout, Astronomer is busy going viral again—with a little help from Gwyneth.
