Starting today, travelling by Delhi Metro will cost a little more. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has increased ticket prices for the first time in several years.
- The fare hike ranges between ₹1 and ₹4 on normal metro routes.
- On the Airport Express Line, fares have gone up by as much as ₹5.
New Fare Chart (Normal Days):
- 0–2 km: ₹11 (earlier ₹10)
- 2–5 km: ₹21 (earlier ₹20)
- 5–12 km: ₹32 (earlier ₹30)
- 12–21 km: ₹43 (earlier ₹40)
- 21–32 km: ₹54 (earlier ₹50)
- Above 32 km: ₹64 (earlier ₹60)
New Fare Chart (Sundays & National Holidays):
- 0–2 km: ₹11 (earlier ₹10)
- 2–5 km: ₹21 (earlier ₹20)
- 5–12 km: ₹32 (earlier ₹30)
- 12–21 km: ₹43 (earlier ₹40)
- 21–32 km: ₹54 (earlier ₹50)
- Above 32 km: ₹54 (earlier ₹50)
So, for example:
- A short ride of up to 2 km will now cost ₹11 instead of ₹10.
- A long ride beyond 32 km will cost ₹64 on weekdays and ₹54 on Sundays/holidays.
The DMRC said this revision is necessary to cover rising operational costs but promised that metro travel is still one of the most affordable public transport options in the city.
Good news for Smart Card users:
- You still get 10% discount on all rides.
- An extra 10% discount during off-peak hours (non-rush hours)
