Shah Rukh Khan’s fans were upset on Tuesday after a video from the Met Gala in New York went viral. In the video, a reporter asked the Bollywood superstar to introduce himself, not realizing who he was.

The video shows Shah Rukh calmly introducing himself and Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee to the press outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Many fans were shocked that the reporters didn’t recognize him, calling the interviewers “unprepared” and “disrespectful.”
One social media user wrote,

Another said, “How can someone not know who Shah Rukh Khan is at such a big event?”
Another video clip also showed someone asking Shah Rukh to step aside quickly on the red carpet, which angered fans even more. One user commented, “Only showing SRK for five seconds at the Met Gala is just disrespectful. He’s a king! He deserves better.”
Despite the incident, Shah Rukh Khan’s Met Gala debut was widely praised. He wore an all-black outfit designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. His look included a long coat, silk shirt, wool trousers, a satin waistband, custom jewelry, and a walking stick. Filmmaker Karan Johar shared Shah Rukh’s photo and called him “The King.”
On the work front, the 59-year-old actor will be seen next in Siddharth Anand’s film King. There are also rumors that he might join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which fans are excited about.
