On Saturday, Hamas said it agreed to free 28 hostages—10 alive and 18 bodies of those who died. But they want the war to stop and Israeli soldiers to leave Gaza.
Hamas responded to a peace plan supported by the US. They said the plan is for a long-term ceasefire, which means stopping the fighting permanently.

Earlier, Israel accepted the US plan. According to Israeli officials, the plan would pause fighting for 60 days and allow the United Nations to send aid to people in Gaza.
Hamas said they will release 10 living hostages and give back the bodies of 18 dead people. In return, they want Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails to be freed.
A Hamas official said their reply to the US envoy Steve Witkoff’s proposals was “positive” but they want some changes.
Arab Ministers Angry After Israel Blocks Their Visit to West Bank
Foreign ministers from Arab countries planned to visit the West Bank this weekend. But Israel stopped their visit.
The ministers were supposed to meet Mahmud Abbas, the Palestinian leader. The Jordanian foreign ministry said the ministers were upset because Israel banned the trip.
Ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain, along with the Arab League’s secretary-general, were going to visit. Israel controls the borders and airspace of the West Bank, so they stopped the visit by refusing to cooperate.
