Seven people have been arrested for attacking civic workers in Karnataka. The fight started because the workers removed a birthday banner that was put up without permission.

On June 5, Rangappa C Herkal, an official from the Haveri City Municipal Council, took down the banner after the municipal commissioner told him to do so. The banner belonged to a man named Shantu.

Later, another person named Akshata KC called Rangappa and shouted at him.

That same day, six people came to the municipal office with weapons and attacked the workers. Two contract workers, Peerappa Shirabadagi and Kanthesh, got hurt when they were hit with a scooter handle. The attackers also threatened them and used bad words.

After Peerappa Shirabadagi complained to the police, a case was filed against the attackers.
