Sunjay Kapur’s sudden death has left his family and friends in shock. On Sunday, a prayer meet was held in Delhi where many familiar faces gathered to pay their respects—including Karisma Kapoor, her children Samaira and Kiaan, Kareena Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan.
But one voice stood out: Mandhira, Sunjay Kapur’s sister, who broke her silence with a deeply personal and emotional message.

“A silly sibling squabble…”
Mandhira revealed that she had not spoken to Sunjay for four long years. The reason? A small argument between siblings that snowballed into total silence.
“A silly sibling squabble escalated to crazy levels due to egos and natural bullishness,” she wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post. “However, that will never take back what we were and what we had.”
Her post included old childhood photos and warm memories—of mischievous laughter, protective brotherly love, and growing up together in privilege.
The heartbreak of unresolved emotions
For Mandhira, the grief is layered—not just mourning her brother, but also regretting lost time. She remembered Sunjay as a strong, supportive figure, saying, “He always looked out for me and our sister. He was a true big brother and a friend.”
Her note struck a chord with many, reminding us how family feuds, left unchecked, can rob us of precious moments.

A prayer meet full of emotions
At the Delhi prayer meet, the atmosphere was somber. Karisma Kapoor stood alongside Sunjay’s wife, Priya Sachdev, in a rare moment that brought the family together. Kareena Kapoor, visibly shaken, was seen offering support.
The entire event felt like a pause—a moment to reflect, to forgive, and to remember.
Sunjay’s tragic passing
Sunjay Kapur, the 53-year-old industrialist and chairman of Sona Comstar, tragically passed away in London on June 12. The cause? He accidentally swallowed a bee while playing polo, leading to a cardiac arrest. Despite medical efforts, he could not be revived.
A reminder to reconnect
Mandhira ended her post by thanking everyone for their support. But the real message? Call your siblings. Let go of the ego. Life is short.
“Thank you to everyone for all of your condolences, sincere wishes and kind words,” she wrote.
