How Much Does Nike Pay Its Software Engineers? H-1B Visa Data Reveals

New data from the U.S. Department of Labor’s H-1B visa program shows how much Nike, the global sportswear company, pays its software engineers in the U.S. According to this data, Nike offers annual salaries ranging from $139,845 to $301,378, depending on the employee’s experience, job level, and specialization.

Nike’s Investment in Tech

The data also shows that Nike is increasing its focus on technology. The company is pushing toward digital transformation and innovation. From 2022 to 2024, Nike filed more than 1,200 Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) for H-1B visas, and most of them were approved.

Salaries for Software Engineering Roles at Nike

Nike pays its software engineers differently based on their role and experience:

Software Engineer III $139,845 – $192,227
Lead Software Engineer Around $196,009 (up to $214,215)

Nike also sponsors other tech roles like data engineers, product managers, and designers. Some of these jobs pay more than $200,000 per year.

Who Nike Hires

Most of Nike’s H-1B employees work in Beaverton, Oregon, which is where Nike’s headquarters is located. Some jobs are also in Hillsboro, Portland, New York, and San Francisco. The top countries from where Nike hires H-1B workers include India, Canada, China, and the UK.

Nike’s Recent Job Cuts and Restructuring

Nike is currently going through a restructuring under its CEO Elliott Hill. As part of this change, the company has laid off some employees in the technology division. However, Nike hasn’t shared how many people were affected.

A company representative said that Nike will outsource some tech-related work to third-party vendors instead of handling everything in-house.
