Starting July 13, 2025, India has made travel easier for Kuwaiti nationals by launching a digital e-visa system. This new move means visitors from Kuwait can now apply for Indian visas online—without going to the embassy.
It’s a proud step in India’s mission to modernise travel, boost tourism, and build stronger ties with Gulf nations like Kuwait.

Who Can Apply and For What?
Kuwaitis can now apply for five types of e-visas:
- Tourist E-Visa – Valid up to 5 years (Rs 6,868 or $80)
- Business E-Visa – Valid for 1 year
- Medical E-Visa – Valid for 60 days
- AYUSH / Medical Attendant E-Visa – Valid for 60 days
- Conference E-Visa – Single entry, valid for 30 days
These e-visas allow Kuwaitis to travel for vacations, work, treatments, yoga, or conferences—all from the comfort of home.
How the Process Works
Kuwaiti citizens must apply through the official e-visa portal:

Just fill in the form, upload the documents, and pay the fee online.
Within 3 to 4 working days, you’ll receive an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) by email. You show this at the airport when you arrive in India. That’s it. No long queues. No old-school paperwork.

No need to visit the embassy for biometrics—they’ll take it when you land in India.

The e-visa lets Kuwaiti nationals enter India through 32 airports and 5 seaports including:
- Delhi
- Mumbai
- Chennai
- Goa

You can leave India from any immigration checkpoint.
Traditional Visa Still Exists
If someone still prefers the old-school method, they can apply for a regular visa through the Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) in Kuwait.
But honestly? The e-visa is quicker, easier, and fully online. It’s the smart way forward.
What This Means for India-Kuwait Friendship
This is not just about tourism. It shows how India and Kuwait are growing closer—through digital progress, cultural exchange, and stronger business links.
As India grows as a travel and wellness hub, this step makes sure Kuwaiti citizens can experience it all—seamlessly.
