Lawsuit Claims Apple Misled Consumers with Unfulfilled AI Promises

Apple Sued Over Delayed AI Features: What You Need to Know

The Lawsuit: A Shock to Apple

In a surprising turn of events, a US district court in San Jose, California, has hit Apple with a lawsuit. The lawsuit, filed on March 19, 2025, accuses the tech giant of false advertising regarding its much-hyped Apple Intelligence features. Customers who purchased iPhones and other devices expecting advanced AI capabilities are now seeking damages.

What Went Wrong?

The lawsuit says that Apple’s ads made people expect new AI features right when they bought the iPhone. However, users found that these promised AI features were either very limited or not there at all. This difference has led to claims that Apple misled customers about what its AI could really do.

Behind the Scenes: Apple’s Struggles

At the same time, Apple is having trouble launching its Apple Intelligence. Earlier this month, Apple said its AI upgrades for Siri are delayed until 2026. According to Bloomberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook has changed the top team of executives. He has put Mike Rockwell in charge of developing and releasing the new AI version of Siri.

What This Means for Consumers

For consumers, this lawsuit shows a big gap between what Apple promised and what it actually delivered. As the case continues, it will be interesting to see how Apple responds to these claims and tries to win back trust from its customers.
