Aishwarya Rai is known worldwide for her beauty and acting talent. But even someone as successful as her has faced unfair treatment in the film industry.
There was a time when Aishwarya was suddenly removed from five major films that were supposed to star her alongside Shah Rukh Khan. This unexpected move left her confused and deeply hurt.

What She Said on Simi Garewal’s Show
Later, in an interview on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Aishwarya opened up about this tough phase. Simi mentioned that Veer Zaara was originally written with Aishwarya in mind.
Aishwarya shared, “There were a few films that were supposed to happen with me. But suddenly they weren’t happening, and I never got a reason why.”
Not Her Decision
When asked if she had chosen to leave those films, Aishwarya clearly said, “No, it wasn’t my decision. You obviously feel shocked, confused, and of course, hurt. You wonder what went wrong.”
Learning How the Industry Works
Aishwarya also spoke about how this experience taught her how unpredictable the film industry can be. She said it opened her eyes to how decisions in one project can affect others and how people’s actions can create a domino effect.
Even though she had many hits and was already a big star, she realized that no one is truly safe in this business. “It became clear that this can happen to anyone—even me—no matter how successful you are,” she said.
