Singer Armaan Malik recently spoke about his strong bond with his elder brother, music composer Amaal Mallik, during an interview. While there have been rumors about a family feud, Armaan clarified how their relationship really works.
He said that Amaal is the best big brother anyone could have in real life, but when it comes to work, Amaal becomes very strict and demanding.

Armaan shared that Amaal’s recent comment — calling him his “baby” in personal life but someone he bullies professionally — perfectly describes their relationship. Armaan added that Amaal is very protective of him outside the studio, but once they’re working on music, things get intense.
In the studio, they often have fights like siblings. Armaan said that when Amaal scolds him or criticizes his singing, it pushes him to perform better. “He says things like, ‘What rubbish are you singing? Sing again.’ He’ll say that over and over until I get angry and give my best performance,” Armaan shared with a laugh.

Despite the tough love, Armaan respects Amaal’s ability to bring out the best in him. He said their trust and creative chemistry are what make their music so powerful.
Meanwhile, earlier in March, Amaal had shared a deeply emotional post about his mental health struggles. He revealed that he’s been dealing with clinical depression due to issues within the family. Although the post has since been deleted, Amaal had mentioned that he felt emotionally and mentally drained and needed to step back from family ties for his own healing. From now on, he plans to keep only professional contact with his family, focusing on his own peace and well-being.
