Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has confirmed the title of the much-awaited movie ‘Dragon’, directed by Prashanth Neel, the filmmaker behind ‘KGF’ and ‘Salaar’. The film stars Jr NTR in the lead role.
In a recent interview on YouTube with Nayandeep Rakshit, Prithviraj revealed that Tovino Thomas and Biju Menon will also play important roles in the movie. He praised the director for giving both actors meaningful and respectful characters.
Malayalam Stars Join Big Telugu Action Film
Fans of Malayalam cinema were excited to hear that Tovino and Biju Menon will be part of this big-budget action movie. With Jr NTR leading the cast, the film is shaping up to be a massive project, with strong characters for the Malayalam actors.
Confusion Over the Title ‘Dragon’
Although the film is being called ‘Dragon’, there has been some confusion. A Tamil film with the same name, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, became a hit in 2025 and was also released in Telugu. This led to legal and title registration issues, causing hesitation in finalizing the name.
Even though Prithviraj referred to it as ‘Dragon’, the makers are still thinking about whether to keep this title or choose a new one that won’t cause confusion.

Prithviraj and Tovino’s Recent Work
Prithviraj’s last Malayalam film was ‘L2: Empuraan’, an action-packed movie that got mixed reviews but did very well at the box office. Tovino Thomas also had a key role in that film.
Prithviraj is now looking forward to the release of his next Malayalam movie, ‘Vilayath Buddha’, an intense drama.
