Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil is grabbing attention — not for a new film, but for his expensive phone. A video of him attending the puja ceremony of the film Mollywood Times has gone viral. In the clip, Fahadh is seen taking a call on a keypad phone, surprising many fans.
At first glance, people thought he was using a simple, old-style phone. But on closer look, it turned out to be a luxury Vertu phone, a brand originally founded by Nokia in 1998.
What Phone Is It?
The phone Fahadh was spotted with appears to be the Vertu Ascent Retro Classic model. According to Vertu’s official website, it costs about $11,920, which is roughly ₹10.2 lakh in Indian currency.

This is not your regular phone. It has:
- A titanium body
- Sapphire crystal parts
- Hand-stitched leather finish
- A special stainless-steel keypad
- Bluetooth, GPRS, SMS, and MMS support
- A 24/7 concierge service (like a personal assistant) available in 170 countries
Though it looks simple, it is a premium, out-of-stock device, known for luxury rather than features.

No Love for Social Media
This moment matches well with Fahadh’s known lifestyle. In a 2023 interview, he said he doesn’t use social media. “I never had an account. I was on Facebook during college, that’s it. I prefer meeting people in person,” he shared.
In June 2025, actor Vinay Forrt also mentioned that Fahadh avoids smartphones and social media, choosing to use a basic phone instead. Although he didn’t name the brand, fans now believe that the expensive Vertu phone is Fahadh’s regular device.
Fahadh Faasil continues to stay different — whether it’s through his powerful acting or his simple, yet luxurious lifestyle choices.
