The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Hyderabad has filed a case involving several Telugu film stars for promoting illegal online betting apps. Popular actors like Rana Daggubati, Vijay Deverakonda, and Prakash Raj have been called in for questioning.

Why the Case Was Filed

According to reports, these celebrities were promoting online betting apps on their social media platforms. These apps used misleading ads like “Earn money for free” or “You can win too,” which attracted many young users. Unfortunately, many people ended up losing their money.

Who Has Been Summoned?

The ED has issued notices to several actors for questioning:

  • Rana Daggubati – July 23
  • Prakash Raj – July 30
  • Vijay Deverakonda – August 6
  • Lakshmi Manchu – August 13

What’s the Impact?

This case has shocked the Telugu film industry, also known as Tollywood. Promoting illegal betting apps is being seen as a serious issue, especially because of the influence celebrities have over their fans. The case might even push the government to introduce new rules to control betting apps.
