Kajol and Ajay Devgn are one of Bollywood’s most loved couples, but their love story didn’t start like a typical movie romance.
In a recent interview with Radio Nasha, Kajol shared how she first met Ajay on the sets of their 1995 film Hulchul. She said it wasn’t love at first sight. In fact, both of them were dating other people at the time.
“He was really, really quiet”
Kajol said she was surprised by how quiet Ajay was. “There was no spark, no lightning moment,” she said. “He didn’t talk much, just like he is now. Even after spending 8–10 hours on set together, all we said was ‘Hi,’ ‘Hello,’ ‘How are you?’ I couldn’t believe how silent he was!”
Different Personalities, One Strong Bond
Kajol described their personalities as completely opposite. “I love talking to people. He was the opposite of everything I liked,” she said. But with time, they slowly grew closer and eventually got married.
Working Together Isn’t Always Easy
In another interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Kajol spoke about what it’s like to be married to someone from the same industry. She said when they act together, they’re honest with each other—sometimes even blunt. “If he’s overacting, I tell him directly. He does the same with me. We don’t hold back,” she said jokingly. But she added that they rarely work together, maybe once in five years.
Family Life
The couple has two children—Nysa, born in 2003, who is studying abroad, and Yug, born in 2010, who is still in school.
