Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B or Scary Spice from the Spice Girls, got married to her longtime partner Rory McPhee on July 5.
The wedding took place at the Crypt of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London – the same place where Princess Diana and Prince Charles were married in 1981. It’s considered a great honor to get married there, and Mel B had special permission from the royal family. She was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by Prince William in 2022 for her efforts in raising awareness about domestic violence.
Stunning Wedding Look
Mel B wore a beautiful ivory gown designed just for her. It had pearl details on the neckline, a long flowing veil, and white heels. For the reception, she changed into another designer dress. The celebration took place at the Shangri-La Hotel inside The Shard – the tallest building in the UK.
A Touch of Family
Mel B’s three daughters were her bridesmaids:
- Phoenix, 26, daughter with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar
- Angel Iris, 18, daughter with actor Eddie Murphy
- Madison, 13, daughter with ex-husband Stephen Belafonte
Guests and Celebrities
One of her Spice Girls bandmates, Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), attended the wedding. However, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie C (Sporty Spice), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) did not attend.
Other celebrities at the event included Cara Delevingne, Katherine Ryan, and Daisy Lowe.
Caroline Black, the bridal boutique owner who helped Mel B pick her gown, said, “Mel was a dream to work with and brought her own unique style to the wedding.”
