Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming movie Ramayana is turning out to be one of the biggest and most exciting projects in Indian cinema. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash in a key role, and the cast is full of well-known actors.
Actress Indira Krishnan, who plays Kaushalya (Lord Ram’s mother), shared some amazing behind-the-scenes details. She revealed that the team used 86 cameras and the same VFX (visual effects) technology that was used in Christopher Nolan’s Hollywood movie Interstellar.

In an interview, Indira praised the production team, especially Prime Focus, for handling such a large-scale film. She said it wasn’t easy to bring so many big actors together and show them all in one scene with top-quality visual effects. She also praised director Nitesh Tiwari, calling him “a man of visuals” because of his strong creative vision.
Indira recalled an unforgettable experience during the filming. She talked about the VFX process, where 86 cameras flashed at the same time to take her body measurements from all angles. This was done to create younger versions of the characters using advanced technology.
She explained that the team focused on every small detail to portray Kaushalya perfectly—from her walk to her posture—showing grace and strength without using dramatic dialogue.
Indira also shared a personal memory from the past. She had worked with Ranbir Kapoor before in the movie Animal, where she played the mother of Rashmika Mandanna’s character. On that set, Rashmika had once said she wished Indira had played her mother again. Indira jokingly said she now wanted to play Ranbir’s mother instead.
Surprisingly, two years later, that joke became reality—Indira was offered the role of Kaushalya in Ramayana. When she met Ranbir Kapoor at the office, he reminded her of that old conversation, and both were amazed at how it had come true.
The first part of Ramayana is expected to release on Diwali 2026, and the second part will come out on Diwali 2027.
