Shefali Jariwala, best known as the Kaanta Laga girl, passed away at the age of 42. She died after a suspected cardiac arrest late Friday night. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital in Mumbai. Sadly, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Shefali was fasting on the day she died. According to Parag, she collapsed shortly after eating leftover food from the previous day. This meal was her first after breaking her religious fast for a Satyanarayan Pooja at their home.

Parag gave a detailed statement to the police. He said Shefali had no serious health issues and her sudden death was shocking. He also mentioned that she was in a happy mood just days before.
Police also spoke to other family members. Everyone said she was cheerful and active in the days before her death. There were no signs of illness.
Investigators found two boxes at the scene. These contained anti-ageing pills, vitamin supplements, and skin glow capsules. The family said Shefali used them for her beauty routine and never had any problems. But none of them were prescribed by a doctor.
“She was always particular about how she looked, but she never took anything dangerous,” a family member told Hindustan Times.
Shefali Jariwala rose to fame with her iconic dance in the Kaanta Laga remix video in the early 2000s. The video made her an overnight sensation. She later acted in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and the Kannada hit Hudugaru. On TV, she was loved in shows like Bigg Boss 13, Nach Baliye, and Boogie Woogie.
She was earlier married to Harmeet Singh of the Meet Brothers. In 2015, she married Parag Tyagi, a well-known television actor famous for roles in Pavitra Rishta and Jodha Akbar.
As of now, no foul play is suspected. The final post-mortem report is still awaited to know the exact cause of her death.
