About Sunny Deol’s Role in Jaat
The trailer of Jaat was released last month, showing Sunny Deol’s character, ‘Jaat’, in an intense showdown with Randeep Hooda, who plays the villain, Rana Tunga. In the film, Sunny Deol promises to bring his iconic “dhaai kilo ka haath” (two-and-a-half-kilo arm) power to the South audience, just as he did in the North with films like Damini. In the trailer, he says, “Ye dhai kilo ke haath ki taakat pura north dekh chuka hai. Ab south dekhega,” referring to the impact of his powerful role.
The movie is a high-energy action film, directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory. It will be released in theaters on April 10, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
Randeep Hooda Talks About the Title ‘Jaat’
Randeep Hooda, who plays the antagonist, Rana Tunga, explained the meaning behind the film’s title. He shared, “In the movie, Jaat is not just about a community or a person; it’s an emotion. Jat people are known for their patriotism, justice, action, truth, daring, love, and anger. I am a Jat myself, and when I first heard of the film, I thought, why am I not playing a Jat role? But then I realized that Sunny Sir is playing the Jat role, and I’m happy to be part of this film as Rana Tunga.” The film, according to Hooda, celebrates the essence of the Jat community, and he feels proud to be a part of it.
