
A tragic blast occurred at Sigachi Pharma, a chemical factory in Pasamailaram, Sangareddy district of Telangana, on Monday morning between 8:15 am and 9:35 am. The explosion led to a massive fire, killing 12 people and injuring 34 others.

Rescue teams, including the police, NDRF, SDF, and 10 fire engines, reached the site quickly. Six people were found dead at the spot, and two more died while getting treatment at Chanda Nagar hospital. The remaining injured are being treated, and officials hope there won’t be more casualties.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow, saying he was “anguished” by the loss of lives. He announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families of each person who died, and ₹50,000 for each injured person from the PM’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also shared his condolences and said the state government is working on a war footing to rescue and treat the injured.
Telangana Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha confirmed that 12 people have died and 34 are under treatment, adding they are hopeful no more lives will be lost.
The exact cause of the blast is still under investigation.
