Xiaomi has just entered the smart eyewear game. On Thursday, the Chinese tech giant launched its first-ever Xiaomi AI glasses, adding a new gadget to its growing tech lineup.
Priced at 1,999 yuan (about ₹23,000), these glasses come with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, Qualcomm’s AR1 chip, and a battery that lasts 8.6 hours. That’s twice as long as the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Xiaomi made the announcement at its “Human x Car x Home” event in Beijing. Alongside the glasses, it also revealed a foldable phone and its first SUV—proving it’s no longer just a phone brand.
Smart Move in a Smart Market
China’s smart glasses market is heating up. Earlier this year, Huawei launched its own AI glasses priced higher at 2,299 yuan. Huawei’s device supports voice commands and translation but lacks a camera.
Baidu is also in the race, with its Xiaodu AI glasses powered by its own Ernie AI. These glasses are expected to launch later this year, and they will include a camera too.
But Xiaomi’s edge? Its ecosystem. The brand already makes everything—from smartphones to air purifiers to EVs. Its AI glasses could connect with these devices, giving users a full smart home experience.
According to Counterpoint Research, the global smart glasses market grew by 210% in 2024 and is expected to rise another 60% in 2025. Xiaomi is stepping in at the right time.
Real Use, Real Power
Xiaomi says the glasses can:
- Record first-person videos
- Respond to voice commands
- Recharge fully in just 45 minutes
These are not just fashion accessories—they’re smart tools. And unlike some competitors, Xiaomi has priced them within reach of average buyers.
Tech analyst He Wangcheng said Xiaomi’s strength lies in its wide product ecosystem, which can help make these glasses more than just a gimmick.
Not Just Another Pair of Frames
Meta and Huawei may have gotten a head start, but Xiaomi’s smart glasses pack serious power for the price. With better battery, camera, and seamless integration with other Xiaomi gadgets, this might just be the brand’s next big thing.
For now, it’s clear—Xiaomi is not just joining the smart glasses race. It’s charging straight into the lead.
