Why Is Thakur’s IPL Future in Question?
Thakur, a proven IPL performer, was released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after a disappointing 2024 season, where he managed just 5 wickets and 21 runs in 9 matches. Surprisingly, he remained unsold in the auction, despite his ability to contribute with both bat and ball.

LSG is dealing with injury concerns to key pacers Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan, who are awaiting NCA clearance. Additionally, Mitchell Marsh has confirmed he won’t be bowling this season. This leaves LSG in need of a solid all-rounder, and Thakur could be the perfect fit.
With LSG set to open their campaign against Delhi Capitals on March 24, a decision on Thakur’s inclusion might come soon.
