Jaiswal and Archer Star in Rajasthan’s Big Win Over Punjab in IPL

Rajasthan Royals gave Punjab Kings their first loss of the IPL season with a strong 50-run win on Saturday. The match was played at the New International Cricket Stadium, and Rajasthan’s Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jofra Archer were the standout performers.

Rajasthan Posts 205 Runs

Batting first, Rajasthan got off to a great start with openers Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring quickly. They reached 85 runs without losing a wicket in the first 10 overs.
Jaiswal was the top scorer for Rajasthan with 67 runs from 45 balls, hitting 3 fours and 5 sixes.
Later, Riyan Parag helped finish the innings strongly with 43 not out, taking the team to a total of 205/4 in 20 overs — the highest IPL score at this stadium so far.

Archer Strikes Early

When Punjab came out to chase 206, they struggled right from the start. Jofra Archer bowled a brilliant first over, getting two big wickets — Priyansh Arya on the very first ball and captain Shreyas Iyer later in the same over.
Archer was named Player of the Match and said, “You need to make the most of days like these because bad days will also come. Enjoy the good ones and stay strong through the bad ones.”

Punjab Falls Short

Even though Glenn Maxwell and Nehal Wadhera fought back with an 88-run partnership, the rest of the Punjab batters couldn’t perform well. Punjab ended with just 155/9 in their 20 overs.
Rajasthan’s bowlers, especially Archer and Sandeep Sharma, made things very tough for Punjab.

Reactions from the Captains

Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson was happy with his team’s total. “At first, I thought we might fall short, but with the kind of batting we have, 205 was a really good score,” he said.

Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer admitted their team gave away too many runs. “We were expecting to chase around 180-185. But we didn’t bowl according to our plans,” he said. “Still, I’m glad this happened early in the season.”

What’s Next?

Punjab Kings will play their next match at home against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday. Rajasthan Royals will face Gujarat Titans on Wednesday as they try to continue their winning streak.
