Akshay Kumar has taken legal action against Paresh Rawal, demanding Rs 25 crore for suddenly backing out of Hera Pheri 3.

In a major turn for the beloved comedy franchise, Hera Pheri 3 has hit legal trouble. Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, has sent a Rs 25 crore legal notice to veteran actor Paresh Rawal.

According to Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner at Parinam Law Associates, the notice was issued after Rawal abruptly quit the film—just days after key parts had already been shot.

The franchise, known for its cult following and timeless comedy, now risks losing its charm—and millions in box office returns. The crew had already started production. A trailer was in the works. Some footage—around three-and-a-half minutes—was even shot. But now, one of its pillars has walked away without a warning.

Not just funny business—this hits hard

“It’s not just about one actor quitting,” Pooja Tidke told PTI. “It’s about contracts, money spent on cast, crew, logistics, and even the trailer shoot.” She added that Paresh Rawal’s move caused reputational damage to the other senior actors involved, and let’s not forget—the heartbreak among the audience.

And here’s the kicker: Rawal didn’t even respond to the legal notice. Silence may be golden, but not in court.

Meanwhile, Hera Pheri’s third musketeer, Suniel Shetty, told E24 that Rawal has agreed to meet him. He hopes to talk things out. Even Akshay Kumar was reportedly shaken by Rawal’s sudden U-turn. It’s not just about legalities—it’s personal. These actors aren’t just co-stars; they’re part of one of India’s most iconic cinematic trios.

For now, Cape of Good Films is keeping the door open. They’re hoping Rawal will return and resolve the issue. But if not, the franchise might have to move forward without its most lovable miser. And let’s be honest—Hera Pheri without Babu Bhaiya is like chai without sugar.

This isn’t just a contract dispute. It’s a gut-punch to Bollywood nostalgia. And it reveals something deeper: the fragile, behind-the-scenes chaos that can unravel even the most iconic of films.
