The Air India Crash on June 12 has left a deep hole in many hearts. Among the 241 people who died was Captain Sumeet Sabharwal — a brave pilot, a loving son, and a proud person who chose service over himself.

Sumeet was a veteran pilot. He flew countless journeys safely and kept his passengers comfortable in the skies. His career was not just a job; it was a passion. Air India was his family, his home in the clouds.

A Loving Son’s Final Wish

Sumeet was not only a responsible pilot; he was a devoted son. His father, Pushkaraj Sabharwal, is a retired official from the DGCA. Pushkaraj lived with Sumeet in Mumbai’s Powai area.

Three days before the Air India Crash, Sumeet made a decision. He told a close friend that it was time to hang up his wings and come back home. His ailing father needed him more than his job. Sumeet chose family over flying — a decision filled with love and maturity.

“It broke Pushkaraj’s heart when Sumeet made this decision, not because he was weak, but because it meant letting go of something he passionately lived for — flying with Air India. His love for his father was greater than the skies.” — friend Lande.

Air India Crash Shakes The Nation

The Air India flight, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, was headed for London with 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, the aircraft tragically fell into the BJ Medical College hostel.

The Air India Crash resulted in a huge fire and a death toll of 241. There was only a single survivor — a painful reminder of how fragile life is.

Pushkaraj’s Final Tribute

A video captured Pushkaraj’s raw emotions. His hands were folded in a silent goodbye, his face filled with tears. His love for Sumeet was pure and deep. The proud father stood outside his Powai home and whispered a final “Goodbye, my son”— a moment that broke countless hearts across the country.

Air India’s Legacy

This Air India Crash is more than a headline — it’s a story of love, sacrifice, and service. Captain Sumeet Sabharwal chose his family in his final days. His decision made him a hero — not just in the skies, but in the hearts of people who value sacrifice and loyalty.

Sumeet’s story teaches us something we often forget — we fly through life quickly, without always pausing to appreciate what matters most. Air India lost a brave soul in the Air India Crash. But his legacy, love, and sacrifice will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
