At least 11 people were injured after Iran launched a large number of missiles at Israel. This happened just hours after the United States bombed three nuclear sites in Iran.

What Happened?
Iran fired around 30 missiles at different areas in Israel, including major cities like Tel Aviv, Haifa, Nes Ziona, and Rishon Lezion. Sirens went off, and loud explosions were heard. The Israeli military confirmed the attacks and is working to stop more missiles.

Damage and Injuries
Some videos on social media showed damage in Haifa city. One 30-year-old man was seriously hurt by shrapnel and taken to the hospital along with 10 others.

Ben Gurion Airport Targeted
Iran also targeted Ben Gurion International Airport, Israel’s main airport, in the missile attack. Iran’s state TV broadcasted the missile attack live, showing the new wave of rockets being launched.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said the US had bombed three nuclear sites in Iran — Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The US used powerful “bunker-buster” bombs to hit the Fordow site. These bombs are designed to destroy deep underground targets and are delivered by the B-2 stealth bomber. Also, 30 Tomahawk missiles were launched from US submarines.

After the US attacks, there were fears of radiation from the bombed nuclear sites. But Iran said there is no radioactive danger or leaks at those places.

This US action came a week after Israel carried out its own airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Israel says Iran is a serious threat and might be trying to build a nuclear weapon. But Iran continues to claim that its nuclear program is for peaceful use only.

What’s Next?
The White House said President Trump is still deciding whether to send US troops into the conflict.
