Nvidia, the company known for making powerful computer chips, has now become the most valuable company in the world. It has passed tech giants like Microsoft and Apple in total market value.

This big jump in Nvidia’s value happened because investors are very excited about the future of artificial intelligence (AI). Nvidia makes special chips (GPUs) that are needed to train AI systems, which are in huge demand right now.

Nvidia’s Market Value Surges Past Microsoft and Apple

Nvidia’s total market value is now about $3.92 trillion, making it the number one company in the world.

  • Microsoft is now in second place with $3.7 trillion
  • Apple is in third with $3.19 trillion

This is a big moment for Nvidia, whose chips were first made for video games. In just four years, the company’s value has grown from $500 billion in 2021 to almost $4 trillion in 2025.

Nvidia CEO’s Wealth Grows – But Still Behind Former Microsoft CEO

Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, has also become much richer. His wealth jumped by $25 billion in 2025, bringing his total net worth to $139 billion, making him the 10th richest person in the world, according to Bloomberg.

However, he is still behind Steve Ballmer, the former CEO of Microsoft, who is now worth $172 billion and ranks 5th on the list of the world’s richest people.

What’s Next for Nvidia and Microsoft?

Experts believe this is just the beginning. Analysts like Dan Ives from Wedbush Securities say both Nvidia and Microsoft could become the first companies to reach a $4 trillion market value as early as this summer.

The reason? Nvidia’s advanced chips are essential for powering the next generation of AI, and the demand is growing rapidly across the world.
