IPL valuation

The IPL valuation has hit a new high. Global investment bank Houlihan Lokey reports that the Indian Premier League is now worth a whopping USD 18.5 billion—that’s over ₹1.58 lakh crore in Indian currency. That’s a 12.9% jump from last year. The IPL is not just a cricket league anymore. It’s a full-blown business empire.

And guess what? RCB is now the most valuable franchise in the league.

A Business Empire in Cricket Clothing

IPL’s brand value alone has jumped 13.8% in the last year to reach USD 3.9 billion. The BCCI is cashing in big time too. The board sold four associate sponsor slots—My11Circle, Angel One, RuPay, and CEAT—for a total of ₹1,485 crore. That’s a 25% rise over the last cycle.

The Tata Group isn’t going anywhere either. They’ve extended their title sponsorship until 2028. That deal is worth USD 300 million, or roughly ₹2,500 crore.

RCB Takes the Crown

In a twist no one expected a few years ago, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is now the most valuable IPL team. Their brand value is USD 269 million, up from USD 227 million last year. That’s massive.

Mumbai Indians are next in line, with a rise from USD 204 million to USD 242 million. But Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fell to third, now valued at USD 235 million.

Interestingly, Punjab Kings (PBKS) saw the fastest growth—a stunning 39.6% jump. They’re still underdogs on the field, but their brand is heating up.

Records, Numbers, and Jio Hotstar Views

The IPL 2025 final made digital history. It got 67.8 crore views on Jio Hotstar. That’s even more than the India-Pakistan Champions Trophy match. Let that sink in.

According to Harsh Talikoti from Houlihan Lokey, “The IPL is setting global standards. Media rights, franchise value, and brand deals are all breaking records.”

IPL Valuation Isn’t Just About Cricket

Let’s be real: IPL valuation isn’t just about sixes and wickets. It’s about eyeballs, screen time, and smart business. From boardrooms to Bollywood, everyone wants a piece of the IPL pie.

And now, with numbers like these, who can blame them?
