G M Breweries has shown resilience. The company posted a net profit of ₹25.86 crore for Q1 FY26. This was higher than ₹24.94 crore in the same quarter last year, despite facing a small drop in revenue.

The board of directors approved the results on July 15, 2025. The meeting lasted just over 30 minutes. And what came out was a set of numbers that tell an interesting story.

Revenue Slips, But Still Better Than Last Year

In Q1 FY26, G M Breweries earned ₹638.01 crore from operations. That’s down from ₹663.13 crore in Q4 FY25. But it’s still a rise of 6.2% from ₹600.59 crore in Q1 FY25.

Other income was only ₹5.13 crore this time. That’s way down from ₹40.42 crore last quarter, but still better than ₹3.63 crore last year. Total income stood at ₹643.14 crore.

Expenses Under Control

The company managed costs better this quarter. Total expenses came to ₹608.58 crore, lower than last quarter’s ₹635.23 crore. The cost of materials was ₹121.11 crore, while taxes and excise duties took up ₹475.15 crore.

Employee costs were down to ₹2.77 crore. Other expenses were ₹8.66 crore. Finance costs rose a bit to ₹27 lakh.

Steady Profit, Better Than Last Year

G M Breweries made ₹34.56 crore before tax. That’s down from ₹68.32 crore last quarter but up from ₹33.32 crore in Q1 last year.

After paying ₹8.7 crore in taxes, the company’s net profit stood at ₹25.86 crore. This was lower than last quarter’s ₹60.46 crore but showed a 3.7% rise from last year.

The total comprehensive income was the same as the net profit—₹25.86 crore.

EPS Takes a Dip, But Still Strong

Earnings per share for the quarter came to ₹11.32. Last quarter it was ₹26.47. But in Q1 FY25, it was ₹10.92. So, year-on-year, the EPS has improved.

G M Breweries may have seen a drop in revenue this quarter, but they still managed to grow net profit year-on-year. That shows control, focus, and strong operations.

For a mid-size player in the beer and liquor space, this is a good sign. Fewer frills, more fundamentals.
