Big news for Ajay Devgn fans—Son Of Sardaar 2 won’t be hitting theatres on July 25 as planned. The film has been postponed by a week and will now release on August 1. This decision comes after a surprise box office storm created by Saiyaara, which released on July 18.
A source close to the film told Bollywood Hungama that Saiyaara’s massive success forced the change. “The film opened huge and is getting great reviews. Its weekend numbers are strong, and it’s expected to perform well in the second week too. In such a situation, releasing another big movie like Son Of Sardaar 2 just a week later wouldn’t help either film,” the source explained.
So, the makers of Son Of Sardaar 2, including Ajay Devgn and Jio Studios, decided to push their release date forward. This gives both films space to breathe at the box office.
