Donald Trump has done it again. On Monday, the former US President shared an AI-generated video of Barack Obama being arrested by the FBI. He posted it on his social media platform, Truth Social.
The video shocked many.
It begins with a clip of Obama saying, “Especially the President is above the law.” Then other US politicians appear in the video saying, “No one is above the law.” After that, the AI clip shows Obama in the Oval Office, being handcuffed by FBI agents. Trump is sitting nearby, smiling.
The video ends with Obama inside a jail cell, wearing an orange prison uniform.
There was no disclaimer to say the video is fake. That angered many people. Critics say Donald Trump is being “irresponsible” by sharing such content. Others believe it was meant to send a message.
This video came just weeks after Trump accused Obama of planning a “high-level election fraud” in 2016.
Tulsi Gabbard Steps In
Last week, Tulsi Gabbard, who is now the Director of National Intelligence, shared something big. She said there is “overwhelming” proof that Obama officials made up the Trump-Russia story. According to her, this was done to stop Trump from becoming President.
She said these actions were a direct attack on US democracy. She asked for a public trial of Obama-era officials.
“Americans deserve the truth,” she said on X (formerly Twitter). “People in power tried to stop Trump by using fake intelligence. That’s not just wrong. It’s dangerous.”
What the Records Say
But the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released their own report. In a 114-page document, the agency stated that Russia likely did not try to change the US election using cyberattacks.
The report also said that by December 2016, intelligence reports clearly stated that Russia had not changed any voting results. This was in the daily brief prepared for the President.
So Why Did Trump Share the Video?
For Trump supporters, this AI video is not just a prank. It’s a message. A warning. Trump wants to show that those who tried to bring him down will face the truth one day.
But critics say this is not the way to do it. They worry about fake news, AI misuse, and growing public anger.
