Salman Khan’s iconic character Prem from movies like Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999) has always been loved by fans. Many have been waiting to see him in that role again – and it looks like there’s finally some good news.
In an interview, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya revealed that he is working on a new film with Salman Khan. However, he said it will take some time. “We are working on the story with Salman Bhai, but it needs to be age-appropriate,” Barjatya explained.
The last time Salman and Sooraj worked together was in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015), which also starred Sonam Kapoor.
Salman Khan’s Current Projects
Salman was last seen in Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The film released in March this year but did not perform well at the box office. His next film is Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, which tells the story of the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. Chitrangda Singh will play the female lead. The release date has not been announced yet.

Sooraj Barjatya’s Recent Work
Sooraj Barjatya’s last film was Uunchai (2022), starring Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, and others. The film earned about ₹49 crore worldwide and won the Best Direction award at the 70th National Film Awards.
With Sooraj and Salman planning to bring Prem back, fans have every reason to be excited.
