Indore Resident Shot Dead in Pahalgam for Identifying as Christian

Indore man killed in pahalgam terror attack, daughter injured

A man from Indore, Sushil Nathaniel, was killed in a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Sushil worked as a branch manager for LIC, and he was in Jammu and Kashmir on April 19 with his wife, son, and daughter.

His brother, Vikas, spoke to the media and shared the details. Vikas said that Sushil’s son, Ostin, informed them about the attack around 9:30 PM on Tuesday. According to Vikas, Sushil’s wife, Jenifer, told them that a terrorist asked Sushil to recite a Muslim prayer, Kalima, while he was on his knees. Sushil told the terrorist that he was a Christian, and asked his wife to move away. In that moment, the terrorist shot Sushil, killing him instantly. Sushil’s daughter, Akanksha, was also injured and got a bullet wound in her leg.

Meanwhile, in Raipur, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai cut short his trip to Mumbai to attend the last rites of another victim, businessman Dinesh Miraniya, who was also killed in the same Pahalgam attack. The Chief Minister expressed that India would give a strong response to Pakistan for the attack. He mentioned that India has always stood up to Pakistan and would continue to do so, including recent actions like suspending the Indus Water Treaty, closing the Wagah-Attari border, and expelling certain Pakistani diplomats from India.
