A 29-year-old Indian man, Issac Paul Olakkengil, sadly passed away while scuba diving at Jumeirah Beach in Dubai on Friday. He was spending the Eid Al Adha holidays with his wife and younger brother.

Issac, originally from Kerala, was working as a civil engineer in the UAE. On the day of the accident, he went scuba diving with his wife Reshma and brother Ivin in a special training area at the beach.

According to his relative Pyarilos Davis, they were being trained for scuba diving when Issac had trouble breathing and moved away from the group. The situation caused panic underwater. Reshma was rescued first, followed by the other two.

Sadly, Issac had suffered a heart attack underwater and was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved.

His brother Ivin also collapsed during the incident and is currently in the hospital under observation. He is now out of danger.

All three—Issac, Reshma, and Ivin—are engineers. While Issac and Reshma lived in Dubai, Ivin lives in Abu Dhabi. Their close bond made it hard for the family to break the heartbreaking news to Ivin, who was told about his brother’s death only on Saturday.

The police have started an investigation, and the diving equipment has been taken for checks. The family is now working with authorities to bring Issac’s body back to India after completing all legal formalities.
