A government school teacher from Jalna district in Maharashtra is in trouble after a video of him sleeping in the classroom went viral.
The incident happened at a Marathi medium Zilla Parishad school in Gadegavan village, Jafrabad tehsil. The school has students from Class 1 to 5.
In the viral video, the teacher, identified as VK Munde, is seen lying back with his leg on a desk, while about 15 to 17 students quietly sit nearby doing nothing. When the person recording the video asked a student how long the teacher had been sleeping, the child replied, “Half an hour.”
Block Education Officer Satish Shinde confirmed the teacher’s name and said that strict action will be taken according to the rules. A detailed report will also be sent to the district education officer.
